WORK EXPERIENCE

February 2010 – Present: HMS Productions in New York, NY.
Design Assistant, Cable & Gauge and Cupio
Assisting the Senior Knitwear Designer for Cable & Gauge and Cupio sweater lines. Hand-drawing and revising technical flat sketches, creating tech packs for new styles, communicating with overseas factories, facilitating yarn and trim development for new seasons, keeping seasonal charts and information updated and available to the Design Team.

September 2009 - Present: Izquierdo Studios in New York, NY.
Freelance Costume Production
Bring costumes from concept to life. Drafted patterns for costume pieces, constructed garments, interpreted designers’ ideas for hats and accessories into reality. Major projects have included Fela! on Broadway, Norwegian Cruise Line’s “Elements,” Pittsburgh Ballet’s 2009 production of “The Nutcracker.”

January 2009 - May 2009: DKNY Jeans in New York, NY.
Men’s Design Intern
Assisted the Design Director and both the Knit and Woven Design teams. Prepared inspiration images, garments, and objects for rigging, took garment specs and assembled tech packs, updated the design flow, created color cards, prepared denim wash samples for overseas development for Fall/Winter 2009/10 and Spring 2010.

April 2008 - October 2008: Ingwa;Melero in New York, NY.
Design & Production Intern
Broad responsibilities in both design and production. Design responsibilities included patternmaking, maintaining the trim and fabric inventories and sample archive, sourcing for Fall/Winter 2008 and Spring/Summer 2009, and coordinating repairs and hand-stitch details on the sample inventory.

June 2007 - August 2007: Ruben’s Designs in Chicago, IL.
Intern
Garment construction and online storefront maintenance for a freelance bridal, sportswear, and costume designer. Duties included pattern alterations, cutting and sewing samples, maintaining and designing graphics for the online storefront, and general administrative office duties.
