Visual Presentation Manager May 2007 – September 2015

Responsibilities include all aspects of visual merchandising to create a fashion forward shopping atmosphere within an outdoorsman and sporting environment. Merchandise mix, 50-50 hard/soft goods ranging from jewelry to cabin cruisers. Regular projects ranged from curator of taxidermy and antiques to muralist and construction manager for remodels and additions. Special responsibilities frequently included production assistance, set construction and property master for TV commercial production. Seasonal fabricator and installation manager of a fifteen thousand square foot animated “Santa- land”.

East Coast Visual Manager Bozeman, Montana
Yellowstone Stores VM January 2004 – September 2006

Primary responsibility to retail division of Parks and Resorts to create and implement visual merchandising standards to over 60 retail outlets based in resorts and national parks throughout the USA and Canada. Famous “high-profile” locations included the Kennedy Space Center, Grand Canyon National Park, Niagara Falls State Park, Yellowstone National Park and Old Town, San Diego State Park. Projects included supervision of historically accurate remodels, fabrication of 3D retail graphics, fixture design and procurement. Special projects included merchandise buying of Navaho jewelry, pottery, and décor as well as toys and souvenirs for Yellowstone General Stores.

J.C. Penney Orlando, Florida
Senior Visual Manager June 2003 – November 2003

Leading a staff of three, the Senior Visual Manager resets the store by season to an exact match of the quarterly style guides distributed to all stores. Special projects included assisting neighboring stores in remodel, hiring and supervising contractors for internal projects.

Creative Director January 2003 – June 2003

Designer, fabricator, event supervisor, client liaison, and project estimator for Floral Artistry Inc.’s worldwide events division. Corporate events ranged from small functions for two hundred to themed events for several thousand.

Spectacular Themes Inc. Orlando, Florida
Temporary fabrication staff March 2002 - February 2003

Fabricator of themed event pieces used for events internationally. Applications used were primarily woodworking, foam sculpture, metalworking, arc, gas, and MIG welding, fiberglass and resin coating, and various faux painting. Typical projects were mobile set construction, antique restoration and custom prop fabrication.

Toys ‘R’ Us Area Visual Manager
Orlando, Florida July 2001 – March 2002

Created and implemented a new standard of visual merchandising to mirror the image of higher-end retailers. Introduced dimensional graphics and established the central fabrication shop at the regional headquarters. Created new shop concepts and promotions by theme. Themed shops and lifestyle presentations replaced supermarket style shopping.

1997 – July 2001
Senior Regional Visual Manager for the world-famous toy retailer. Region included twelve stores in the Eastern USA. Priorities included establishing the Orlando flagship store as an example for regional stores to emulate. Projects included designing, constructing and installing custom shops and fixturing for company based or vendor supported product launches and promotions. This regularly required working with store managers and corporate directors at all levels to establish and maintain visual standards. Seasonal projects included partnering with motion picture marketing representatives or product manufacturers for annual animated window presentations, promotional events and shops for the New York City home store.

Assistant. Regional Visual Manager October 1995 – April 1997

Assistant Regional Visual Manager for six local traditional department stores. Primary resource contact and corporate visual trainer for local visual managers. Designer of seasonal and specialty shops company-wide. Created and managed the local visual production shop. Interim Regional Visual Manager for ten months.
