My name is Minerva Matzir. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona and received my Bachelor's degree in Apparel Merchandising and Management with an emphasis in production. I love and enjoy working on garment construction. During my spare time, I make dresses for my daughters. I enjoy experimenting with different fabrics, trims and accessories. I even incorporate sublimation printing on the fabric to make the design that they like, like Pinkfong and Bebefinn. I also have crocheting skills that I learned by watching YouTube videos. I have proficient skills using Adobe programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and In Design. Furthermore, I am proficient in utilizing the new graphic design website, Canva. I mainly use Canva and Illustrator to make my designs for my t-shirt business that I operate from home. I have being doing this for the past 2 years. I make shirts for babies up to adults. I make different type of designs, from urban and contemporary styles all the way to religious designs. In the year of 2021, I unsuccessfully tried to launch my brand Genesis Matzir, named after my stillborn daughter that I lost in 2015. The design and production went very well, but I lacked marketing and sales skills. I have faith that in any company in the fashion industry, I will acquired new skills and master the ones that I already have. Thus, I will have more confidence in continuing my brand.
