I graduated magna cum laude from The Fashion Institute of Technology with a B.F.A in International Sportswear Design in May of 2009 and received the SUNY Chancellors Award for Student Excellence. My experience at FIT was enriched by spending my Junior year abroad in Milan, Italy, where I was fortunate enough to study at the Politecnico di Milano. The experience challenged me to approach design in a new light, with the consumer really at the forefront of my mind.
I spent the past year working at Reebok International, Ltd. where I was involved in all aspects of the design and development process, from initial ideation, sketching, and assisting with fabric and trim choices to fittings, cost analysis team meetings, and final product review sessions. Working on the Sports Basics team introduced me to working on extremely price sensitive product that still strives to speak to our overall design themes and current trends. It was a challenging yet rewarding experience and I am a better designer because of it.
