More Information

The looks for my final six piece look were picked from memories of my childhood. Growing up, I have seen many trends come and go, but something that still amazes me is the ones that come are modernized from the past. Thinking back, I can remember looking at old pictures of my mother and laughing at the outfits that she would wear, only now, those are the same garments that I see in fashion magazines and the same ones that I am drawn to in a clothing store, they just have a new century twist on them. My designs reflect me because they show the growth in a piece of clothing. My material choice was leather because of the different connotation in today's society. Whenever I was seven, leather made you look cool or punk, but now, my closet has leather accent pieces to make me look trendy and put together. Throughout the years, my image has changes, just like this material. I also decided to keep my designs in black and white because sometimes a color or a pattern will turn me off towards a piece of clothing. But just like the reflection of myself and my work, never judge a book (material) by its cover. I hope that the black and white images make a buyer fall in love with the garment itself and not the material that it is made of.
