Sanford Burrows is my own bedding line. I conceptualized the line and am the sole employee, working on all aspects of the business. The line is produced in Italy and sold in the United States. A unique use of embroidery is employed, creating freeform designs across the entire bed. The fabric is made of 100% combed Egyptian cotton percale in single-ply yarns.

Experience includes:

- Conceptualization and design of bedding line, which includes duvet covers and pillow shams

- Design of product packaging

- Market and competitive research; development of detailed business plan

- Sourcing of international manufacturers

- Management of the line\'s sample development and full production; quality assurance

- Management of shipping and importing

- Development and implementation of marketing strategies, including business to business and business to consumer

- Development and implementation of sales strategies, including business to business and business to consumer

- Design and print management of all promotional items

- Design of company website and implementation of search engine optimization strategies

- Collaboration with public relations firm (accolades have come from Dwell, Apartment Therapy, the L.A. Times and Design Sponge, among others)

- Exhibitor at the New York International Gift Fair

I consulted on the development of the Porridge bedding collection, and acted as a liaison between the designer and the manufacturer. I managed all aspects of the production from start to finish. The collection is made in Italy of designs printed onto 100% combed Egyptian cotton percale in single-ply yarns.

Responsibilities included:

- Creation of product specification documents; obtaining of manufacturing costs

- Oversight of production schedule

- Management of strike-offs, sample development and full production

- Management of shipping and importing

- Sourcing of pillows inserts
