• Developing print/artwork to customer briefs.
• Developing designs for customers.
• Assisting the designer in creating stories for Timex\'s sister brand in Sri Lanka
• Researching trends via the net and magazines.
• Lab dips and ordering sampling
• General administration for design, sales and production

I am currently working as a Design Assistant for a high street supply company Timex Fashion, working closely with customers such as Arcadia, Marks&Spencer, Debenhams and House of Fraser. My main role at Timex Fashion is to help in ladieswear garment design development, trim/embellishment design development using CAD and print development using CAD. I also assist Timex’s freelance senior designer in range building for our customers and creating story boards for the design team at Timex Fashion’s sister brand Avirate based in Sri Lanka. I also have gained experience in logo design, through designing the logo for a new ladieswear evening range for BHS. Working under a small, but a busy and successful company like Timex Fashion since leaving university has meant I have had to become a quick learner, adaptable and highly organised.

Work placement position for luxury womenswear designer Claire Mischevani
• Creating embellishment on garments.
• Hand and machine sewing garments.
• Designing and making accessories.

During my time at university I gained work experience as a Studio Assistant with luxury ladieswear designer Claire Mischevani. My duties included hand and machine sewing garments and embellishments. I also designed and made accessories in contribution to her Spring Summer 2010 Collection ready for Paris Fashion week. My time spent with Claire Mischevani taught me the importance of good communication with clients, and to work to the highest possible standard.
