My experience in casual, lifestyle, and technical apparel could be a great addition to your company. I have worked for various companies, including Original Penguin, Todd Smith, DKNY and most recently at Lands\' End. My ability to develop a concept and carry it through to a final product is key in my current and past successes as a designer.
I am able to interpret current trends in the market, while simultaneously considering cost and target margins. I have been able to raise margin percentages each season by working closely with my product development team. I have extensive experience compiling techpacks, including detailed drawings and technical sketches for the creation of BOMs. Working side by side with cross-functional partners helps ensure that prototypes arrive as specified. Reviewing details and specifications with channel merchants, production teams and tech designers ensures that business and consumer needs are met in a cost-effective manner. This allows me to be confident that product execution meets my design aesthetic as well as commercially acceptable quality standards. I have demonstrated an ability to mentor assistant designers and interns, and to maintain effective relationships within a team environment. I thrive under pressure, especially while working on more than one season at a time, at different stages of the production calendar.
My experience has allowed me to grow into a knowledgeable and conscientious designer. I understand varying sectors, and am able to design a collection based on the type of customer that I am trying to reach. Through competitive shopping, research, and international and domestic tradeshow travel, I am able to gather influences and materials to design collections that are both relevant and new.
