C A R E E R

Pro tem, I am an associate designer for the brand, Cohesive & Co.
My main focus is coordinating our pre-production processes through an ideation to a finished product. As part of a reasonably smaller company, it has become my \'just nature to be involved in all aspects of the design process from start to finish. We begin by working a concept through-to-a technical reality. I employ the use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel --mostly-- to build detailed tech packs. I use those to communicate with global vendors and ensure precise details are not overlooked. As we all know, in fashion, time is of particular importance and I work quickly and efficiently to meet subsequent deadlines. Once a style has been approved, a PO is issued and the pre-production process begins. It\'s a constant and never-ending cycle. To maintain an orderly, perpetual flow, you gotta learn how to balance, lickety split. There\'s hardly downtime, and when there is, I\'ve observed that staying prepared and keeping organized makes a manageable work-pace. It really is the key to success.
Eventually, with the help of my colleague\'s, I conduct fit sessions, and adjust patterns. After noting all design & fit comments for the corresponding garment, I then prepare & submit follow-up tech packs.
There\'s plenty to it, all in all, I should add that working with a smaller company has taught me an extensive and indefinite amount of knowledge. I\'m always learning, day to day and using what I learn to forge my way.

P H I L O S O P H Y

As a designer independent of the corporate workplace, far away from the 40 hour work week, I reflect upon myself and the times we\'re living in as a major part of my design aesthetic.
I try to create things that draw in on my adventurous soul as outreaching, & cutting edge.
However, as an illustrator I tend to want for anything provocative, and fantastical. It\'s where my mind really begins to explore itself; myself.
My hands are what tie the two together, and I often find myself taking strides beyond my capabilities. I knowingly push the envelope to further my own understandings. But what can I say? I\'m confident, and I believe that you should push yourself with all the might in your bones.
To me, to design & create… it\'s a simple concept.
You are temporary: So challenge what you think you know, challenge what you\'ve been taught. Challenge your boundaries. Challenge the imbalance of power.
Never forget the power and strength of your own mortality.
