I, Denielle DeSantis, am a creatively-driven artist. I am as good at developing brand identities as I am at conjuring up the textile patterns that give brands and fabrics a life of their own.

More Information

At a young age, in college specifically, I quickly learned that my talents in fine arts needed a boost. I then decided to take the next step and transition into the digital arts world, specializing in graphic/textile design. My internship at DKNY added importance to this decision and really helped me focus on what I was most passionate about. At DKNY, I created the textile patterns that were seen on the runway for the Fall 2010 Fashion Lines at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Show February 2010, as well as in major department stores. I continued finishing my last year in college with an independent study in painting and an internship at a full-service ad agency, Loaded Creative . . . in addition to my 18 credits! I received extensive real-world experience and am now pursuing my design work in all areas.

As far as my textile work is concerned, my style tends to focus on hand-paintings. My love for painting, specifically watercolor, began in the 7th grade when I became intrugued with the lack of restriction the paint had on the canvas. It allowed an erratic, uncontrolled component to take effect, which is what life is all about; letting fate take the reigns. The textiles are given fluidity through a unrestricted continuity that helps engage and create a relationship between the print and the eyes of the beholder. Much of my style is achieved with layering colors, lines, and shapes to really give the pattern depth and physicality.
