I studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology professionally. I am interested in the designers assistant position in the area of womens wear woven and dress department. I interned at Vivienne Tam as a designer and pattern maker for several months, as well as freelanced in the department of sweater design at Jones New York. Since I chose to intern at one place for long time, I was chosen to work in design and the pattern making division. Therefore, I obtained privileges such as working as a private intern for the head pattern maker. I was able to learn, build knowledge and experience the fashion industry by assisting in fashion shows from the beginning to the end.
My professionalism in Korea was architecture. It made it possible for me to obtain accuracy, have a good sense of measurement, able to see different dimensional point of views, create balance and harmony of objects. My past experiences include working in many different countries such as a branch manager in Singapore and in Hong Kong at a trading company. I supervised the finance and inventory department. During this time, I was able to gain immense knowledge of international trading. The trading company I worked for was cooperating with many international companies, therefore I was able to learn about communication skills as well. Overall, I had the chance to be exposed to different culture and fashion.
I am a person who has intense, progressive, and concentrating personality. When I have spare time I enjoy adventures in new fields, reading, visiting museums, listening to seminars, and travelling. My strong point is that I can give balance of structure to clothes because of my background in architecture, and my sense of aestheticism to structure gives me distinctive designs when comparing with regular fashion designers that studied fashion design. Working in design and the pattern department at Vivienne Tam improved my knowledge of garments, and helped me to understand the relation between design and the pattern department. Additionally, I am comprehensive in overall office work, management skills, trading work, and communication skills within different cultures. Therefore, I strongly believe that my background and experience will bring me phenomenon in the fashion world. I will be gratefully appreciative if I can have the opportunity to reveal my ideas and thoughts.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Daniele Keem
