GAMBACORTA (gam-ba-cor-ta) was started in 2008 when designer Amy Gambacorta left
her native New York for Los Angeles determined to create a fashion line that combines
New York chic with Cali comfort.
At an early age, Amy involved herself in every aspect of the fashion, publishing, and
entertainment industries alike. As a result, Amy has worked and interned on both
coasts for some of the industrys most talked about companies including:
MAXIM radio, MAXIM magazine, GLAMOUR magazine, ELLE magazine,
public relations at PRADA and CHANEL, with fashion stylist LORI GOLDSTEIN,
on set PROJECT RUNWAY, and as part of the design team at both HUDSON JEANS and ROCK & REPUBLIC.
Amy is also a proud supporter of the MAKE-A-WISH foundation. In 2004, Amy
and her Fordham University colleagues founded their first ever fashion alliance,
Fashion for Philanthropy, in which an annual fashion show continues to support
the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern New York.
