More Information

I believe higher education is the ticket to a better future, preparing one with the foundation needed to adapt to changing conditions throughout one’s life. At an early age, I wanted to become a Fashion Designer. I recall many amazing stories my Mom would share about the beautiful memories of clothing that she received as a child from my great grandmother who sewed by hand, not machine. That is true talent! In my family are a long line of people who loved to sketch and sew, which they did out of necessity. Opportunities to pursue their talent as a career were not possible. I am finally making strides toward pursuing this long-time family interest in creating fashion.
My plan is to start my own fashion line one day, designing fashionable apparel to fit many style types. My fashions will be known to combine different functional styles to produce affordable ready-to-wear, yet elegant fashionable apparel for young and adult women in the latest attractive trends. In addition, produce a unique finished product that will work for high fashion, fashion sportswear, and work apparel. The idea is to satisfy the needs of women who want to look and feel like a million bucks, but not have to pay an exorbitant amount.
“A picture is a thousand words,” so they say. What you wear is how you present yourself to society. As one who is full of new ideas with an eye for style, shapes and color, I believe my designs are breathtaking. I believe they could be brilliant and one day, grace the racks of virtual stores and many brick and mortar retail stores.
MY PASSION IS FASHION! I am fortunate that my vision for my future came early for me. I will graduate with a Bachelor’s from the University of North Texas in spring 2017. My dream is to graduate from College of Visual Arts and Design (CVAD) program. This degree will give me the tools to become a professional Fashion Designer.
