DESIGNER PROFILE – ANNA PAOLA PASCUZZI
What should everyone know about you?
I am an Italian experienced shoe designer and product manager, working for many foreigner shoe companies and start up ones. I’ve been working in this field as a free lance for more than 15 years. My focus is style, design and selling products.
How would you describe what you do?
Marketing, trend and material researches, moodboards, sketches, shoelast, heel and out/insole designs. All comes in a pdf. My work consists in building collections: shoes, bags and leather goods.
For some foreigner clients I do create trend books.
Why did you choose to be a designer?
For my love for accessories and fashion.
What steps did you take to become a designer?
It has been a very long marathon since now: after high school I attended a four year course at Accademia di Costume e Moda in Rome, I won an award at Hogan/Tod’s and then I attended a European specialized shoe making and designing course at Cercal in Emilia Romanga (San Mauro Pascoli, Italy).
I also have a four year degree (cum laude) in Cultural Anthropology at University La Sapienza of Rome, Italy.

A cultural anthropologist
What do you like about what you do?
The novelties, the taste for beauty, forecasting.
How has your work evolved since you began your career?
A lot: from going visiting shoe companies to web based work.
What are you fascinated by at the moment and how does it feed into your work?
Art is my only feeding
What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started your career?
You have always to learn especially in shoes. And the second but not less important lesson is th
at work is made after payment, since it is a hard, serious work. I am a professionist not a beginner.

My rule is balance
