Recently relocated from New York to Los Angeles.
10 years experience in mens outerwear & sportswear design including 1-1/2 years in womens outerwear design, 5-1/2 years in high-end womens sportswear. Most recently, various freelance design positions in mens tailored sportswear & outerwear, and in women's yoga wear.
Most of my experience is in working with small companies, which has required full hands-on development of the collections from market research & concept, fabric sourcing, trim & print development, design, production of photoshoot, development of sales materials, and multiple visits per year to overseas factories. I have worked with brands selling to major department stores and specialty stores across America & the world.
Professional knowledge of Mac & PC, including MS Office, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop, working knowledge of NED Graphics print design software.
Strong communication skills, especially leading & working cohesively with design team, conveying ideas to sales team, and communicating with overseas vendors. Native English speaker, intermediate level Japanese, basic Chinese.
