Jim Gibbs studied Fine Arts at Long Island University and Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. Over the years, Jimmie has designed for a wide range of markets including, women\'s dresses, sportswear, juniors, and athletic apparel (boys, girls,mens and women). He is also a committed activist, helping to raise over $1 million for Cancer Research by producing fashion show benefits and recruiting corporate sponsors in his home state of Connecticut. He produced fashion shows for Macy\'s East, headlining brands such as Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. And he won a \"Fashion Producer of the Year Award\" from the Connecticut Chamber of Commerce for his work.

Currently, Jimmie is working on the next collection for Melba Christine which is due out in Spring 2012 and will include both handbags and limited edition dresses. As Creative Director of Design, his plans are to launch Melba Christine into a full brand, including dresses, shoes, accessories, swimsuits, and specialty t-shirts--as well as private label garments and accessories for other manufacturers.
