More Information

My name is Emily Ray and I recently graduated with a B.S in Fashion Design from Philadelphia University. I just graduated at the top of my major in Fashion Design. Both of Senior collections received awards at our school's annual fashion show this past April at the Kimmel Center in Center City Philadelphia. My Fall Collection (Excellence in Sportswear) and (Senior Showcase Winner voted by Established Fashion Industry Alumni and Participants). My Spring Collaborative 11-look Collection with my designer partner and best friend received (Best in Show) and (Best Collaborative Collection) only the second to pass through our school.

Other than Fashion Design, at my University I balanced my time with 4 years on our school's Varsity Women's Lacrosse Team, where I was a Captain my Junior and Senior year. I am a record holder at my University for most goals in a season and point holder for 200 career-points in 4 years. My Senior year I also helped my team to win our Conference the same day as our Annual Fashion Show where I won award(s) for my collections.

I have a strong sense of time management, leadership, responsibility, dedication, and striving to be the best under pressure. I thrive in fast-paced decision making environments. Other than the responsibility of my team I was apart of Fashion's Night Out in Philadelphia volunteering for all 4 years, as well as volunteering for events affiliated with Nicole Miller in Manayunk, and volunteering for a Brother/Sister NCAA program for sick children called Friends of Jacklyn.

I am a very driven and passionate designer. I love prints, color, drawing and fashion illustrating, I also have taught myself digital print design and fell in love with it. Both of my Senior capstone collections were all made from fabrics I designed and printed with our school's digital printers. I have learned how to use Gerber, Illustrator, Photoshop and can drape, make patterns, send tech design packs and have a strong understanding for creating and printing fabrics with digital print design.

I am hoping to start my career in the Fashion Industry like I've always strived for. But in the meantime, I am creating custom pieces and a small collection at a local boutique in North Jersey. It's really taking off, but I would love to take my passion to an established company in hopes to learn all I can and be the best I can be to help that company succeed.
