More Information

From backstage down the runway to the Garment District, Sheryl Blasnik has been there on the pulse of the always evolving fashion industry. She draws her vivacious energy and creative inspiration from pop culture, street fairs, museum exhibits and vintage fashion books. Her passions for music, dance, literature and film act as a catalyst for evocative and innovative ideas resulting in cutting edge presentations.

With a degree from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in “Event Planning & PR”, she has transitioned her studies from the classroom to the industry.

Having interned at a Soho boutique PR firm during her schooling, Sheryl went on to plan and produce fashion events for emerging to established fashion houses during NY Fashion Week.

In 2010 Sheryl launched her own fashion blog. Fashion Development Group (http://fashiondevelopmentgroup.com) serves as a forum to introduce young emerging fashion and accessory designers located in the NY metro area. FDG also features breaking industry news, runway reviews, backstage photos, designer collaborations, explores trends and brings invite-only high profile fashion events right to your inbox by subscribing.

In January of 2008, Sheryl was recruited by the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM), the College for the Business of Fashion, to join their adjunct faculty teaching classes in Fashion Styling and Event Planning. She has reached out and invited top celebrity stylists and event planners in NYC to speak with the student body and better prepare them for a rewarding career in the fashion industry. In addition, she continues to guest lecture in the Fashion Styling program at FIT, LIM and Montclair State University.

For the last 6 years, she has worked as a VIP/Guest Supervisor at numerous Genart fashion events, an organization that showcases the works of emerging designers, and was on-site to organize the Project Runway auditions held in New York City. In addition, she was the Volunteer Coordinator supervising 50+ volunteers at the Lucky Magazine Shops annual event at Gotham Hall.

As a wildly sophisticated, creative and ambitious professional she has cultivated and maintains relationships with some of the largest NYC public relations firms specializing in the fashion and beauty industry. These relationships have placed her backstage during NYC Fashion Week tending to and prepping the runway collection for such iconoclastic designers as Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, 3.1 Philip Lim, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Imitation of Christ, the Australian duo of Sass & Bide, Pamela Roland, Bryan Bradley of Tuleh and Baby Phat. As a team player, she has worked with A-List celebrities and VIP clients at hi-profile events such as the American Image Awards, the Country Music Awards and the FIFI Fragrance Awards.

Her keen eye and flair for style and image has lead to work in Fashion Styling. Utilizing her styling skills to interpret the latest trends in fashion she was the Lead Stylist for the Spring 2005 IHF Runway Show Fundraiser showcasing the couture line of Isaac Mizrahi. Working with the Director of Couture for Mizrahi, she pulled together 40 looks which received high praises from the media. Sheryl also hired the models, handled all the castings/fittings, gathered props and managed backstage rentals/preparations. In addition to runway, she has also styled editorial and commercial photo shoots for lifestyle and fashion magazines.

Tracey Eyers, Producer and Media Consultant, WNYW FOX 5, says “Sheryl "has extensive fashion experience and a positive winning attitude; she is a great asset in the world of fashion.”"

Having earned a Bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College, she has a strong background in Advertising & Marketing providing her with a firm understanding of product branding and consumer communications.

She maintains an up-to-date rolodex of media industry contacts and event vendors. She knows how to get any job done to perfection in the most time-efficient and creative manner while maintaining corporate and client goals.
