My goal is to create garments that will be worn to make memories that will last a lifetime, allow the wearer to express themselves, and make them feel like they run the world.

This project for my portfolio class was to research a brand and design a hypothetical collaboration with them either in their style or your own. I researched the company Badgley Mischka and designed shoes made from resin resembling crystals.

More Information

Hello! My name is Natalie Brand and I am a junior Fashion Design major at Kent State University expecting to graduate in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Ever since I was a kid I have always had a passion for sewing and garment construction. I see clothing as an outlet and a way of expression for people to show who they are without speaking, something I always strive for while designing. Coming from a mixed race background I use clothing not only to display a cultural message, but also to express myself beyond ethnicity. Clothing is also a vessel for memories, specifically evening wear and bridal. A wedding dress is one of the most special garments you could ever wear and being able to create something that will be cherished forever is something I hope to be able to do for others.
