More Information

Melissa Rae Earl was born in Concord MA in January 1984. She spent her first 18 years in North-Eastern MA, where she held her first fashion show at the age of 16. She attending the RISD pre-college fashion design program in summer of 2001, and graduated from her small public high-school in 2002, determined to go on to attend art school.

She moved to Savannah in 2004 to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design Fashion Design Program. She graduated from the program in 2002 with a B.F.A. in fashion design and a minor in accessory design as well.

After College, she remained in Savannah for one year working as an assistant costume designer at ACME Costumes, under Nancy Cox, former president of the National Costume Association.

She then chose to explore the world and take a job teaching English in Seoul, South Korea. While in Seoul, she taught Kindergarten, studied Korean language and street-fashion, and traveled throughout Asia.

When she returned to America, she was offered an internship with MEMBERS ONLY, assisting the design, sales, and marketing/PR teams with day-to-day functions. While at MEMBERS ONLY she had the privilege of attending Coterie, the biggest and most comprehensive annual NYC trade show.

After completing her MEMBERS ONLY internship, she took a job at a high-end NYC service company called fashion design concepts, as Assistant Designer/Assistant to the CEO. While at Fashion Design Concepts, she had the opportunity to work on projects for top NYC designers such as Oscar De La Renta, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrara, and many others.

Fashion is her first love, followed by reading feminist literature, hiking, painting, taking in stray cats, and cooking for people she loves.
