THE LATEST BRAND TO LAUNCH DENIM ISN’T WHAT YOU’D EXPECT – Refinery29
“If you’ve been seeing super-wide-sleeved blouses and huge bell-bottom pants all over the place, well, you can likely thank Ellery for that explosion. The Australian-based brand’s signature silhouettes have become so recognizable (and so widely copied) that we’re always eager to see what it’ll come up with next. And designer Kym Ellery’s latest venture isn’t a surprising one. Considering she helped bring mega-flares back to the mainstream, doing denim — Ellery-style of course — is a logical next step. And these aren’t any old pair of jeans. She’s translating her iconic, inventive twist on statement-making silhouettes with five debut styles: a classic high-waist, a boyfriend fit, and, you guessed it, multiple flared pieces. And while they’re certainly an investment (the pants start at $690), we’ll be the first to admit it’s damn near impossible to put a price on the perfect pair of jeans.”

AMAZON’S FIRST LIVE SHOW TO FOCUS ON FASHION – Pret – a – Reporter
“Amazon is continuing to make its mark in the fashion world. Not long after rolling out its seven in-house fashion labels, the e-comm giant announced Tuesday that it’s launching a new fashion and beauty show called Style Code Live. Hosted by Lyndsey Rodrigues (MTV’s Total Request Live), Rachel Smith (correspondent at ABC News for Good Morning America and Nightline) and Frankie Grande (Big Brother 16 and Ariana Grande’s half-brother), the 30-minute show will feature fashion tips from experts, shoppable looks and interactive live chats — not unlike what HSN and QVC offer on their sites.”

BOUCHRA JARRAR RUMORED TO BE LANVIN’S NEW DESIGNER – HarpersBazaar
“According to WWD, French designer Bouchra Jarrar could be the new womenswear designer at Lanvin. Rumors are swirling that the house is close to completing a contract with the designer, who launched her signature label in 2010 and began showing haute couture in 2013 (a major feat for any young designer). Currently, Lanvin has declined to comment and Jarrar could not be reached.”

NEIMAN MARCUS ATTEMPTS TO BAN PHISHING – RetailingToday
“Neiman Marcus has a lot invested in its brand, and is trying to ensure criminals don’t reap the profits. In an effort to identify and block fraudulent messages from cybercriminals designed to look like communications from Neiman Marcus, the luxury retailer will deploy the Return Path Email Fraud Protection solution. Malicious email messages may contain malware or links to fraudulent sites set up to steal personal information, account credentials, or passwords. Neiman Marcus has worked with Return Path for more than a decade to continually optimize its email program and maintain near-perfect deliverability.”

THE CRAZIEST RUNWAY SHOES FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK FALL 2016– FootwearNews
“Talk about ending fashion month with a bang. The fall ’16 shows at Paris fashion week featured a number of wacky runway footwear. Though many fashion houses played it safe this season — mostly due to the overwhelming number of them currently lacking a lead creative director — the accessories collections surprisingly saw bold designs rife with experimentation.”
