MAN WHO EMBEZZLED FROM CITIZENS OF HUMANITY PLEADS GUILTY – California Apparel News
“The man who oversaw a scheme to embezzle $8 million from a commercial laundry house owned by Citizens of Humanity pleaded guilty to federal charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.Luis Mariano Rodriguez, 49, of East Los Angeles, who was the one-time president of CM Laundry LLC, pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud on March 21. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 20 and faces a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.”

RALPH LAUREN’S MAUREEN GRAY RETIRES FROM ROLE OF VP OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE – FashionMag
“Maureen Gray has retired from Ralph Lauren after 19 years at the company. Her role as Vice President of International Trade will not be replaced. During her tenure, Gray advocated for key fashion industry issues in Washington, DC. While at Ralph Lauren, Gray served as chairwoman of the U.S. Fashion Industry Association beginning in 2011. She worked with USFIA president Julia Hughes to help the 200-member association, which includes J.C. Penney Co. Inc., Kohl’s Corp., Pacific Sunwear of California Inc., Levi Strauss & Co. and Macy’s Inc., navigate through trade policy issues.”

“American Eagle Outfitters has teamed with Florida’s cosmetics brand Beauty for Real on a summer-inspired collection of cosmetics and personal-care items with an emphasis on natural beauty. The capsule debuted in early March at Aerie stores and e-commerce site. The five-piece collection, called Aerie Real, features body balm, a bronzer and blush stick, a sea-salt based spray to give hair that beachy effect, several colors of lip gloss, and a body scrub for beach-ready skin. All products are available only at Aerie stores and the Aerie e-commerce store.”

NORDSTROM ANNOUNCES ‘EPIC SHOE PARTY’ CONTEST ON SNAPCHAT – Footwear News
“Nordstrom is feeling the shoe love today. The retailer debuted an extra special contest for fashion fans on its Snapchat story. With the help of Karlie Kloss — who is a big shoe fan herself — the store announced it will host an “epic” party on one of five university campuses. The university with the most votes on the Snapchat story wins plenty of goodies, including celebrity shoes. The schools in the competition for the free swag are the University of  South Carolina, University of Oregon, University of Arizona, University of California Los Angeles and Florida State University.”

“Eddie Lampert, the Chief Executive Officer of Sears Holdings Corp, has acquired a portion of the company’s new $750 million loan, his latest bet on the parent of Sears department stores and Kmart discount shops, people familiar with the matter said. The loan helps Sears pay down some of its older debt at a time when shoppers are moving away from malls in favor of Internet shopping and the company, which has lost more than $8 billion over the last five years, sees its sales plummet.”
